The western movies are just like a big melting pot of world culture.A good movie is not only because of its aesthetic feeling
and the characters,but also because of its essence theme-ried through it.The western movie is just like a container.It includes all the different tastes of life.As a moderen people,it shows the conclusion of past,the understanding of today,and the pursuit of the future.It continuously react the culture.

下面要说文化背景的话，当然是名着改编的了

下面的我都看过，有些还是很不错的，标!!惊叹号的是我觉得不错的，其他的仁者见仁了。

1《劝导》bbc95作品
2《傲慢与偏见》我看过1940经典电影版，95BBC电视剧版和最新凯拉·奈特丽的那版，都不错。 ！！！！！
3《爱玛》
4《曼斯菲尔德庄园》
5《诺桑觉寺》
6《理智与情感》凯特温斯莱特演的那版 ！！！！！

7《简爱》这个有好几个版本
8《基督山伯爵》，这部我非常喜欢 ！！！！！
9《威尼斯商人》
10《呼啸山庄》这部也有好几个版本 ！！！！！
11《雾都孤儿》
12《屋顶上的轻骑兵》这部是比较新的了，虽然原着算不上是名着但是很精彩，倍受好评。

这些根据世界名着改编的电影，值得一看。

《无名氏》、《莎翁情史》、《傲慢与偏见》应该算最贴题的，前两部都是描写莎士比亚的，其中非常喜欢《无名氏》

《无名氏》剧情——在伊丽莎白女王统治英格兰的时代里，政治风云变幻。都铎王朝的成员和一些贵族都在预谋着反叛计划。影片的主角是爱德华·德维尔，他就是着名的牛津伯爵，影片从他的视角展开了叙述。实际上，爱德华·德维尔不仅仅是伊丽莎白女王的乱伦情人，他更是所有莎士比亚作品的执笔人。在影片的讲述中，莎士比亚，不过是一个傀儡而已。

《国王的演讲》，是奥斯卡影帝科林费斯主演的电影，科林费斯演绎了伊丽莎白二世她爹，继承王位后克服自己的口吃障碍的故事，并在二战中发飙了注明的演讲。
其中涉及了英国王室的文化，也以语言为主线（但不是已英语作为一门语言艺术而讲述的，只是涉及了罹患语言障碍的主角的故事）。

there are large cultural differences in american and chinese film. for example, the concept of face which is very important in asian culture is almost always present in Chinese movies, and things which are said outright in american film are often supposed to be understood in Chinese film.

the portrayal of women is different. despite the fact that communism was supposed to bring equality of men and women to China there are still deeply ingrained gender stereotypes that are present in Chinese films. This is true in american film as well, but less so.

Family is often a much more fundamental part of life in China than it is in America therefore it often represents a much bigger part of chinese films. Though this is less true now, a lot of Chinese films seem, well corny to western viewers, the acting seems hammish.

there is a difference in that in China much film content is strictly regulated by the government making so what is portrayed is not always what would have been portrayed it if it was totally up to the film maker.

The Influence of Movies
There is no doubt that watching movies can influence the way that people behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is a video tape or a DVD or on the internet. Therefore, the effects of visual media cannot be ignored.
One obvious effect of these media is that watching them inces people to buy certain procts. Another way the movies affect people is that they give people either a broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of movies they watch. Those who watch news and ecational films can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and may try to imitate acts that they see in the movies.
With the ever-increasing popularity of video entertainment, society must pay attention to these effects. Movies, while entertaining and informative, cannot take the place of real experience.
