The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. How Ping, apparently a stork or other billed member of the avian family, fathered a panda is a mystery, not least to Po, but then the movie is filled with a wide variety of creatures who don't much seem to notice their differences.

They live in the beautiful Valley of Peace with an ancient temple towering overhead, up zillions of steps, which the pudgy Po can barely climb. But climb them he does, dragging a noodle wagon, because all the people of the valley have gathered up there to witness the choosing of the Dragon Warrior, who will engage the dreaded Tai Lung (Ian McShane) in kung-fu combat. Five contenders have been selected, the "Furious Five": Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Tigress looks like she might be able to do some serious damage, but the others are less than impressive. Mantis in particular seems to weigh about an ounce, tops. All five have been trained (for nearly forever, I gather) by the wise Shifu, who with Dustin Hoffman's voice is one of the more dimensional characters in a story that doesn't give the others a lot of depth. Anyway, it's up to the temple master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), an ancient turtle, to make the final selection, and he chooses -- yes, he chooses the hapless and pudgy Po.

The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single mpling.

"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma. But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. For the kids, of course, all this stuff is much of a muchness, and here they go again.

He bribed the hutu general by wine and gold, used out every coin of his to purchase the refugees’ lives, ten, a hundred, 2 hundreds, 3 hundreds… more and more tutsi refugees flee to the hotel wishing to survive. To them, Paul is an angel who keeps a hope for those hopeless people in the calamity. His goodness his mercy is the key to be alive.

When I was a freshman in college I watched the film Gua Sha Treatment for the first time, now I am a junior student and I come back to review the movie from a multicultural aspect, I have many different feelings after watching the film again.

At the beginning of the film, XuDatong is given an award and later he delivers a speech. What makes me impressed most is in his speech he says “one day I will become one of you, a truly successful American, today this award proved that America is a true land of opportunity and I am the living proof of that.” At that moment Xu thinks he has realized his American Dream totally with his lovingly wife and adorable son. However, I think it is ironical that to make a speech like that and I assume it is made on purpose to hind a clue for the story’s development. How many non-American people have such a beautiful American dream? One of my classmate studies in American now and before he went aboard he told me his American dream is he can stand at the top of the New York. To be honest, I also dream that one day I can get the Green Card living there happily and successfully maybe working at the Wall Street. When Xu gets the award he thinks he entirely melted in the melting pot neglecting the multicultural obstruct, later the plot goes against the way he thinks. And later Quinlan asked Xu ‘why you be the scapegoat of your father?’ Xu answers ‘because he is Chinese.’ Then maybe Xu knows that there is always a wide gap between Chinese and American cultures.

At the Christmas Eve Xu wants to return back to his home pretending as a Santa Claus, what a pity, the security recognizes him and persuades ‘you are always a good tenement, never causes troubles for me.’ And another scene is at the end of the film , the judge says ‘I have to follow the procere.’ However, in China people always have to ask for a favor to do something, and later you have to pay back the favor ，for myself, I prefer the American style, strict to the procere.

The fifth and the last point is the humors, Quinlan says ‘you can’t fall, your health security is the company paid.’ ‘Datong, welcome home, maybe next time, you can come from the front door.’ ‘dady, why you come from the window’ ‘ because we don’t have a chimney.’ I really adore this distinguished American humor, especially in dangerous situations, which is quite rare in China.

Pete Doctor, one of the four Pixar directors (John Lassester, Andrew Stanton, Brad Bird) who directed Monster's Inc (2001) needs and should get nominated for his clever, genius and smart directing of this but if Stanton didn't get the nods for (Finding Nemo and WALL-E) and Bird for (The Incredibles & Ratatouille) which they should of been, then the Oscars are making another HUGE mistake for not nominating this guy for this movie.
Up is the funniest Pixar movie, funnier than the Toy Story movies, A Bug's Life & Finding Nemo which were the funniest, in my opinion. The movie is not just hilarious, it's emotional and sad at times. Like WALL-E, it focuses on the character feelings but not as magical as WALL-E. This summer holiday, I watched an interesting American movie named KungFu PandaⅡ.

In the movie, there was a panda and his friends such as a tiger, a monkey and so on .The panda named Polo was so fat that he couldn’t see his own toes when he looked down .But he was very cute and full of fun, so many people like him .He was not an ordinary panda but an hero when appearing in KungFu PandaⅡ.Like many other movies in this kind, there was also a king who was very cruel. Of course, it was Polo and his friends’ mission to kill the bad guy. They made it. There were many problems, of course, when they tried their best to kill the king. And they overcame them by their courageand,above all, their friendship.

As for myself, through the movie, I learned many important things-confidence, courage and friendship. I realize that no one can defeat us so long as we are equipped with these important things.

This film was absolutely amazing. I have spent hours re-watching various scenes and noticing all the perfection with which they are acted and directed. Its not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...), but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leons door. It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portmans face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.

I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans. Im not. But Im glad I finally found it, because its a wonderful film in so many other ways.

Based on the Stephen King (non-horror) novella “Rita Hayworth and theShawshank Redemption”， this is a simple story of hope made remarkable by theinteraction between the two lead characters. Both Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemando a fine job in terms of making their roles genuine and appealing, and also inthe way they work so well together. The proction values throughout areoutstanding, but this is not a “fancy” film. Rather, it sticks to the story itis telling without resorting to flashy tricks to grab the audience’s attention.Although there is violence, some of it extreme, it is necessary to show the kindof place the prison is and is certainly not gratuitous.

The main theme is hope,not despair, and the violence serves only as a backdrop to that message.Unashamedly a feelgood movie, by the end one is wishing only that it wouldcontinue for a few more moments.

“Life of Pi” is such an exciting movie that most people enjoy watching it,especially for teenagers. It tells a story where a boy called Pi lives alone with a tiger in a boat in the middle of the ocean. The boy is both smart and brave. He learns to know how to live together with the tiger that may eat him at any moment. However, with so many difficulties, the boy and the tiger successfully reaches the land and saves their lives.

As is shown in the movie, when we are in trouble, not only should we be brave, but also smart. More importantly, we should never give up our hope when faced with hardships. Nothing is impossible if we believe in ourselves. As an old saying goes, "Where there is a will, there is a way."
