WILLIAM WALLACE:“Fight,and you may die.Run,and you''ll live at least a while.
And dying in your beds many years from now.
Would you be willing to trade?
All the days from this day to that,
for one chance,just one chance,
to come back here and tell our enemies
that they may take our lives,
but they''ll never take our Freedom!
Freedom——”
Isabella Swan: [to Edward] I know what you are. You're impossibly fast. And strong. Your skin is pale white, and ice cold. Your eyes change colour and you never eat or come out into the sun.
Edward Cullen:"Say it out loud. Say it. "
Isabella Swan: ...Vampire. "
Bella: How old are you?
Edward: Seventeen.
Bella: How long have you been seventeen?
Edward: A while.
Edward: Bella, you are my life now.
Bella: I dream about being with you forever.
Edward: Forever?
Edward: Is it not enough just to have a long and happy life with me?
Bella: If this ends badly being that I become the meal.
Edward Cullen:"I don't have the strenghth to stay away from you anymore."
Edward:I'm the world's most dangerous predator.Everything about me invites you in...My voice,my face...even my smell.
And if I would need any of that.
As if you could out run me!
As if you could fight me off!

COUNTESS: Oh, and your slippers. Please put on your slippers and come away at the window. Your milk and crackers.
ANN: (taking the tray; as the Countess helps her pull the covers over her) Everything we do is so wholesome【

COUNTESS: (retrieving the tray) It's alright, dear, it didn't spill.
You must get something in your mind, why don't spill it.
常与它连用的短语有:spill out ; spill the beans
It's no use crying over spilt milk.
ANN: I don't care if it's spilled or not. I don't care if I'm drown in it (throws her head into the pillow)!
COUNTESS: (putting her hands on her shoulders to comfort her) My dear, you're ill. I'll send for Doctor Bonnachoven.

COUNTESS: You're not dying.

COUNTESS: It's nerves,control yourself, Ann.
ANN: (throwing herself on the pillow, beating it with her fist) I don't want to!
COUNTESS: (standing up straight, speaking with authority) Your Highness. I'll get Doctor Bonnachoven.
ANN: (looking up as she leaves) It's no use, I'll be dead before he gets here.
JOE: Hey! hey, hey,... Hey, wake up!
ANN: Thank you very much, delighted.
JOE: Wake up.
ANN: No, thank you. Charmed.

JOE: I think you'd better sit up, much too young to get picked up by the police.

ANN: "If I were dead and buried and I heard your voice beneath the sod my heart of st would still rejoice." Do you know that poem?
JOE: Huh, what do you know? (Sitting down) You're well-read, well-dressed; you're snoozing away in a public street. Would you care to make a statement?
ANN: What the world needs is a return to sweetness and decency in the souls of its young men and...
JOE: Yeah, I er, couldn't agree with you more, but erm--
couldn't agree with you any more.
I couldn't agree with you any more on the the proposal.
JOE: Get yourself some coffee, you'll be alright. Look, you take the cab.
JOE: Come on, (takes her up by the arm) climb in the cab and go home.
MASTER OF CEREMONIES: Ladies and Gentlemen: Her Royal Highness will now answer your questions.
CHIEF OF CORRESPONDENTS: I believe at the outset, Your Highness, that I should express the pleasure of all of us at your recovery from the recent illness.
at the outset 一开始,等于 at the beginning。
如 :At the outset of his career he was full of optimism but not now.
ANN: Thank you.
AMERICAN CORRESPONDENT: Does Your Highness believe that Federation would be a possible solution to Europe's economic problems?

JOE: May I say, speaking for my own press service,we believe that Your Highness's faith will not be unjustified.

speak for 意思是“代表——说话” , 在此可以和in behalf of 互换。

ANN: (looking at Joe; smiling very slightly to him) I am so glad to hear you say it.
CORERESPONDENTS: Which of the cities visited did Your Highness enjoy the most? (Ann pauses as she looks at Joe.)
ANN: Each in its own way was...unforgettable. It would be difficult to-- Rome, by all means, Rome. I will cherish【珍惜】 my visit here, in memory, as long as I live.

ANDY
My wife used to say I'm a hard man
to know. Like a closed book.
Complained about it all the time.
(pause)
She was beautiful. I loved her. But
I guess I couldn't show it enough.
(softly)
I killed her, Red.
Andy finally glances to Red, seeking a reaction. Silence.
ANDY
I didn't pull the trigger. But I
drove her away. That's why she
died. Because of me, the way I am.
RED
That don't make you a murderer. Bad
husband, maybe.
Andy smiles faintly in spite of himself. Red gives his
shoulder a squeeze.
RED
Feel bad about it if you want. But
you didn't pull the trigger.
ANDY
No. I didn't. Someone else did, and
I wound up here. Bad luck, I guess.
RED
Bad luck? Jesus.
ANDY
It floats around. Has to land on
somebody. Say a storm comes
through. Some folks sit in their
living rooms and enjoy the rain.
The house next door gets torn out
of the ground and smashed flat. It
was my turn, that's all. I was in
the path of the tornado.
(softly)
I just had no idea the storm would
go on as long as it has.
(glances to him)
Think you'll ever get out of here?
RED
Sure. When I got a long white beard
and about three marbles left
rolling around upstairs.
ANDY
Tell you where I'd go. Zihuatanejo.
RED
Zihuatanejo?
ANDY
Mexico. Little place right on the
Pacific. You know what the Mexicans
say about the Pacific? They say it
has no memory. That's where I'd
like to finish out my life, Red. A
warm place with no memory. Open a
little hotel right on the beach.
Buy some worthless old boat and fix
it up like new. Take my guests out
charter fishing.
(beat)
You know, a place like that, I'd
need a man who can get things.
Red stares at Andy, laughs.
RED
Jesus, Andy. I couldn't hack it on
the outside. Been in here too long.
I'm an institutional man now. Like
old Brooks Hatlen was.
ANDY
You underestimate yourself.
-
RED
Bullshit. In here I'm the guy who
can get it for you. Out there, all
you need are Yellow Pages. I
wouldn't know where to begin.
(derisive snort)
Pacific Ocean? Hell. Like to scare
me to death, somethin' that big.
ANDY
Not me. I didn't shoot my wife and
I didn't shoot her lover, and
whatever mistakes I made I've paid
for and then some. That hotel and
that boat...I don't think it's too
much to want. To look at the stars
just after sunset. Touch the sand.
Wade in the water. Feel free.
RED
Goddamn it, Andy, stop! Don't do
that to yourself! Talking shitty
pipedreams! Mexico's down there,
and you're in here, and that's the
way it is!
ANDY
You're right. It's down there, and
I'm in here. I guess it comes down
to a simple choice, really. Get
busy living or get busy dying.
Red snaps a look. What the hell does that mean? Andy rises and
walks away. Red lunges to his feet.
RED
Andy?
ANDY
(turns back)
Red, if you ever get out of here,
do me a favor. There's this big
hayfield up near Buxton. You know
where Buxton is?
RED

Lots of hayfields there.
ANDY
One in particular. Got a long rock
wall with a big oak at the north
end. Like something out of a Robert
Frost poem. It's where I asked my

wife to marry me. We'd gone for a
picnic. We made love under that
tree. I asked and she said yes.
(beat)
Promise me, Red. If you ever get
out, find that spot. In the base of
that wall you'll find a rock that
has no earthly business in a Maine
hayfield. A piece of black volcanic
glass. You'll find something buried
under it I want you to have.
RED
What? What's buried there?
ANDY
You'll just have to pry up that
rock and see.

All that city. You just couldn't see the end to it. The end? Please? You please just
show me where it ends? It was all very fine on that gangway. And I was grand too, in
my overcoat. I cut quite a figure. And I was getting off. Guaranteed. There was no
problem. It wasn't what I saw that stopped me, Max. It was what I didn't see. You
understand that? What I didn't see. In all that sprawling city there was everything
except an end. There was no end. What I did not see was where the whole thing came
to an end. The end of the world...
Take a piano. The keys begin, the keys end. You know there are eightyeight of them,
nobody can tell you any different. They are not infinite. You are infinite. And on
these keys the music that you can make is infinite. I like that. That I can live by.
You get me up on that gangway and you're rolling out in front of me a keyboard of
millions of keys, millions and billions of keys that never end, and that's the
truth, Max. That they never end. That keyboard is infinite. And if that keyboard is
infinite, then on that keyboard there is no music you can play. You're sitting on
the wrong bench. That's God's piano.
Christ! Did, did you see the streets? Just the streets… There were thousands of
them! And how do you do it down there? How do you choose just one? One woman, one
house, one piece of land to call your own, one landscape to look at, one way to
die...
All that world is weighing down on me, you don't even know where it comes to an end,
and aren't you ever just scared of breaking apart at the thought of it? The enormity
of living it?
I was born on this ship, and the world passed me by, but two thousand people at a
time. And there were wishes here, but never more than fit between prow and stern.
You played out your happiness, but on a piano that was not infinite. I learned to
live that way.
Land? Land is a ship too big for me. It's a woman too beautiful; it's a voyage too
long, a perfume too strong. It's a music I don't know how to make. I could never get
off this ship. At best, I can step off my life. After all, I don't exist for anyone.
You're an exception, Max, you're the only one who knows I'm here. You're a minority,
and you better get used to it. Forgive me, my friend, but I'm not getting off.
