The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. How Ping, apparently a stork or other billed member of the avian family, fathered a panda is a mystery, not least to Po, but then the movie is filled with a wide variety of creatures who don't much seem to notice their differences.
They live in the beautiful Valley of Peace with an ancient temple towering overhead, up zillions of steps, which the pudgy Po can barely climb. But climb them he does, dragging a noodle wagon, because all the people of the valley have gathered up there to witness the choosing of the Dragon Warrior, who will engage the dreaded Tai Lung (Ian McShane) in kung-fu combat. Five contenders have been selected, the "Furious Five": Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Tigress looks like she might be able to do some serious damage, but the others are less than impressive. Mantis in particular seems to weigh about an ounce, tops. All five have been trained (for nearly forever, I gather) by the wise Shifu, who with Dustin Hoffman's voice is one of the more dimensional characters in a story that doesn't give the others a lot of depth. Anyway, it's up to the temple master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), an ancient turtle, to make the final selection, and he chooses -- yes, he chooses the hapless and pudgy Po.
The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single mpling.
"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma. But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. For the kids, of course, all this stuff is much of a muchness, and here they go again.

He bribed the hutu general by wine and gold, used out every coin of his to purchase the refugees’ lives, ten, a hundred, 2 hundreds, 3 hundreds… more and more tutsi refugees flee to the hotel wishing to survive. In their warm and fuzzy remake, the Ephrons have changed the setting from pre-World War II Budapest to contemporary New York City. Not surprisingly, because Nora Ephron lives on the Upper West Side, "You've Got Mail" makes Manhattan look like the better side of the rainbow. The sisters Ephron have expanded the scope of the action, too, so that the principals no longer toil under the same roof with the same tyrannical boss.
As Joe Fox, Tom Hanks of "Forrest Gump" plays the son of a wealthy family that owns Fox Books, a conglomerate book store a la Barnes & Noble which swallows smaller stores. Although Joe epitomizes capitalism at its most ruthless extreme, the filmmakers go to great lengths to take the sting out of his villainy. Not only do they show him taking his father's children by a second wife out to play, but they also saddle Joe with a shaggy Irish setter. Can anybody say "Turner and Hooch?" Conversely, as Kathleen Kelly, Ryan runs a quaint little children's bookstore named The Shop Around the Corner that her mother left her. Dislike turns to hate when Fox Books lures Kathleen's customers away with its discounted books, cappuccino bar, and chairs to relax in and read. Faced with competition that will likely sink her small business, 'Shopgirl' seeks advice from 'NY152.' He suggests that she go to war. Rationalizing everything in terms of the movie "The Godfather," he refers to the mafia epic as "the sum of all wisdom" and charts his life by it. Meanwhile, she interprets life through the pages of Jane Austin's classic weepie "Pride and Prejudice." Despite the widespread protest that she generates in the media, Kathleen cannot compete with Fox, and she locks her doors after 42 years of business. Indeed, hostile takeovers of this kind raise few eyebrows in today's rabid business climate, but jarring realism of this sort seems distinctly out of place in an otherwise fluffy love story.
Although "You've Got Mail" is a tale perfectly suited for today's technology, several obvious consequences have been overlooked. Never mind that "Mail" depicts women as passive and inexorably overwhelmed, makes breaking up appear like a picnic, and condones Republican style capitalism where big company gobble up small stores without a moral hiccup. Presumably, the sisters Ephron figured that audiences will dismiss these uneasy questions without a thought as they purr over the on-screen chemistry between Ryan and Hanks. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. “The Pursuit of Happyness” was released on the 15th of December 2006. It is a dramatic story based on a biography of Chris Gardner’s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabrielle Muccino, the film stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner, and co-stars Jaden Smith playing Chris’ son, Christopher Jr. For Will Smith’s performance in the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. The ‘different’ spelling of the title, ‘Happyness’ is seen by Chris Gardner on the building outside the play centre is son attends, which Chris reminds the owners of the building multiple times that it is spelt with an ‘I’.
The film shows us the struggles Chris Gardner has with homelessness. During the struggles, his wife Linda leaves to go to New York and Chris and his son are left in San Francisco with no income and living in a motel. Meanwhile, Chris and his son are evicted because they can’t pay rent, and they are forced to go to a homeless shelter, and even one night had to sleep in the bathroom of the underground rail system. During his internship, he never once mentions his financial struggles and at one point he is asked to give one of his bosses 5 dollars for a cab, a sum that he can’t afford. After an intense six months, Chris is taken into the bosses’ office, and is offered a job as a stockbroker, the final scene shows him being in unbelief of the position he was offered and showing his happiness and gratefulness for the opportunity, Chris realises that his financial struggles are over as he now has a job with a regular income.
Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ’s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ’s love to his son and Christ’s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.
