看到这个名字就知道故事的结局，肯定是happy ending，一眼就能看穿的剧情也许就没那么精彩。看这部片子的时候我处于事业的彷徨期，进退都不知道方向。安逸让最初的梦想变的更加遥远起来。而电影里的主人公不然，生活本身就处于摇摆奔波中，每天拎着四十磅的机器穿梭，偶尔自嘲。正因为他的生活渐入绝境才能激起他对最初梦想的坚持。才能让他一点点成功。我们从小都被这样的故事教育着。看一个走投无路的`人如何一点点绝处逢生。
人们乐意看这样的故事，因为能给自己找到力量，每每听闻总会想，我比他状态好多了，那么我也会有希望。也许这就是美国人的简单的思维。但是这样单纯美好的故事未尝不能填补空虚，给人力量.
影片的一个重要线索就是他们居住环境的变化，从破旧的公寓到，汽车旅馆，公共厕所，教会收容所。一步步的落魄，但是由于影片的名字让观者一点都不担心最终的命运。反而更加的留意于各个状态下父子。更加关注主人公是如何一点点找到命运的出口。

最终父亲靠着对梦的执着一点点实现，这些都是情理之中也没有什么波澜，不过确实让人最善意的希冀得到了满足。希望付出终有回报。
总之是一部很简单的影片，简单到可以做中学生的立志教材。虽然背后的故事是真实的，但艺术就是艺术，表现出来的伤痛已经不知道被剥离了多少层。
这部片子还有一点处理挺可笑，就是把所有中国人写成贫穷，英语不好，或者不负责人的幼稚园老师。是美国贫困小孩不得已的选择。不过他们都是善良淳朴。
