个人感觉《小妇人》是美国电影史上翻拍次数很多的一部作品了，这些天有幸看了它的两个最为经典的版本1933版和1994版。前者有凯瑟琳•赫本、琼•贝内特领衔，后者则云集了苏珊•萨兰登、薇诺娜•瑞德、克里斯汀•邓斯特、克莱尔•丹尼斯等优秀演员，照理说来这两部电影应该都很好的阐释了《小妇人》原着，但我看下来的感觉这两部电影都只完成了原着的四分之一。
不批评导演和演员，他们已经尽了全力，我认为这个剧本即使将时间延长到3个小时也不一定可以完完全全阐释《小妇人》一书，书中内容过多是造成这两部电影不完美的根本原因。撇开这个因素不谈这两部作品都是难得一见的佳作。
电影中的主角自然是书中最为重要的角色，不管是1933年还是1994年的版本导演都不约而同的选择了乔为电影中主角，而这两代乔的扮演者分别是凯瑟琳•赫本和薇诺娜•瑞德，凯瑟琳演绎下的乔比薇诺娜所扮演的要更加符合我心目中乔的形象，坚强、有主见，而薇诺娜则略显顽皮，少了那份坚毅。梅格是我在书中最喜欢的人物，可惜在电影中这个角色基本上被忽略了，无论是弗朗西丝•迪伊还是翠尼•阿瓦拉多都没有将梅格这个角色演好，或者由于我自己的问题吧，在我看来梅格柔中带刚落落大方的气质这两位演员都没有表现出来，特别是翠尼•阿瓦拉多，她所扮演的梅格更加像一个村姑，一点“曾经贵族”的气质都没有，贝丝在书中给人感动最多，简•帕克和克莱尔•丹尼斯自然也不是什么装饰品，对于贝丝善解人意克莱尔•丹尼斯表现最佳，对于她的内向腼腆简•帕克更胜一筹。最后是那位艾米，1933年版的电影中删去了很多小说中艾米的故事，而1994年同样将艾米的欧洲之行能简则简，所以我们无法看到一个完全的艾米不是演员的错，琼•贝内特的气质是萨曼莎•玛西丝无法比拟的，但是萨曼莎•玛西丝更加符合艾米的形象，琼•贝内特贵气太重，有些不自然，萨曼莎•玛西丝因为平民所以更真。
