I definitely wouldnt say it was better than the first Despicable Me,the first one was a lot more heartwarming,but it still is a very good sequel and has everything you want in a family film,humor for both young and older audiences.
However,the story of the movie feels very scattered and throughout I felt like they were trying to fit too much in one hour and a half. I still enjoyed it nevertheless!

Its not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...), but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leons door. It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portmans face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.
I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans. Im not. But Im glad I finally found it, because its a wonderful film in so many other ways.

Waiting until after everyone in the embassy (大使馆) where her party is staying has gone to sleep, she slips out a window and finds herself alone on the streets of Rome.
She is found by Joe Bradley (Peck) , a hardened (坚毅的) and somewhat cynical (愤世嫉俗的`) reporter, on his way homefroma late night card game. Not knowing who she is but seeing that she has no place to stay he takes pity on her and invites her to his apartment for the night. In a ical (滑稽的) scene, he offers her a pair of his pajamas (睡衣) and points to the couch where she can sleep. Innocent (天真的) aristocrat (贵族) that she is, she asks for a nightgown and help undressing. Bradley helps her take off her tie and then leaves the room. When he returns a few minutes later he discovers her sound asleep on the bed, leaving him the couch (沙发) .
Leaving her sleeping the next morning, Bradley shows up late for work and tries to cover himself by saying that he had an interview (采访) with the princess. 本影片在没有冰河时代那种有搞笑和赏心悦目也没有那种惊奇的搞怪夸张幻想在里面，只是很似人的故事情感的塑造了一个人物的思想和被改变到最后的为了救罗素和kevin和查尔斯的战斗让故事有了一个很好的体现人的性情和理想愿望等。他在为了完成心爱人的愿望将他们的房子放到天堂瀑布不懈努力坚强执着 一定要将这件事做完而放弃了kevin被查尔斯抓走而为了房子放弃营救，看出他心里情绪是多么在乎他妻子的愿望不为过之后，看了妻子留给他的……而想通。之后他在回想到与罗素、kevin和狗的生活，这些让他感受到了朋友的重要。他就马上行动去救罗素。他就把所有房子里的东西让自己……在有失去房子他那时的心里和最后罗素坐在房子旁数车的色彩，说明人物已经从过去的悲伤中走了出来，这里可以体现整部片子的人物生活性情的改变，说明我们现实也许要……
