在觀看《熔爐》的時候，中途會有幾次不願意看下去的感覺，究其原因，在於片中對於性侵的場面完全沒有迴避，進行了直接表現，而這可能會挑戰觀影者的承受能力。但是如果不這么表現，就很難渲染出孩子們的無助，以及性侵者的丑惡。再加上影片的現實主義基調，讓事情發生時如同身臨其境，觀影者如同旁觀者，看到這樣的暴行，卻無法阻止，讓許多人潸然淚下。
