可是，有一天，當王後再問魔鏡同樣的問題時，魔鏡卻回答說：
「現在白雪公主比你美麗。」
新王後聽了非常生氣。
「可惡，怎麼可以有人比我更美麗，我一定要把她除去。」
於是，她就命令宮廷的武士說：
「我不想再看到白雪公主了，你找個借口，把她帶到森林裡偷偷殺掉。殺了以後，把她的心和舌頭帶回來，做為你殺死她的證據。聽到沒有？不可以有差錯……」
「是的，王後……」
武士聽了這話之後，就真的把白雪公主帶到森林裡去了。
當武士抽出刀來殺公主的時候，他看到正在採花的公主，純潔，善良，猶如天使一般，武士不忍心殺她，就向白雪公主說：
「皇後命令我殺掉公主你，可是我實在狠不下心，所以你還是往森林裡逃走吧！」
說完武士見到一頭豬，就跑過去宰了它，並取下心和舌頭以作為證據。
之後，武士便回皇宮去了。
聽到貓頭鷹叫聲的白雪公主，越走越覺得森林好可怕。
突然，眼前有一棟小木屋，於是便又驚又喜的叫著：
「啊，是小木屋！」
白雪公主急忙向前敲敲門，可是屋子裡沒有人來開門。
她就自作主張的把門打開。進入小木屋後，裡面竟然整齊排列著七張小小的床。 白雪公主在森林裡跑了一天，覺得非常疲倦，就在那七張小小的床上躺了下來，不知不覺的睡著了。
傍晚，當七個小矮人扛著鋤頭回來時，發現自己的家有人在，而且是睡在自己的床上，大家都很奇怪的問：
「這個漂亮的女孩子是誰啊？」
「她睡得好香哪！」
「這個小姑娘長得真美麗。」
小矮人們紛紛議論的聲音吵醒了白雪公主。
小矮人們很生氣的說：
「你為什麼闖進我們的房子呢？」
「各位先生，真是對不起，因為我在森林中迷路了，走了一整天的路，實在是又餓又累，看見這棟小屋，我就走進來休息了。」
白雪公主又把事情的經過，一五一十地告訴小矮人。小矮人們聽了非常同情白雪公主的遭遇，就把她留下來。
「你就在這里住下來吧！」
白雪公主聽到小矮人願意留下她，很高興的說：
「真是太感謝了，我願意在這里為你們做飯、鋪床、洗衣服、打掃，我什麼都願意為你們做。」
「歡迎你，從此這里就是你的家了。」
白雪公主每天都把這個小木屋打掃得非常清潔。七個小矮人從森林裡回來後，就有可口的晚餐等著他們。就這樣日復一日，白雪公主和小矮人過著快樂的生活。
新王後以為白雪公主已經死了，有一天她又問魔鏡說：
「魔鏡、魔鏡，誰是世界上最美麗的人呢？」魔鏡回答王後說：
「王後，你很美麗，可是白雪公主比你更美麗，她現在在森林中和七個小矮人過著快樂幸福的生活。」
王後聽了這個回答之後，才知道白雪公主並沒有死，她感到很憤怒。
「真是可惡極了，一定要讓白雪公主從世界上消失」
壞心腸的王後想到了一個辦法，她在鮮紅的蘋果外面，塗上了她調配的毒葯，准備去毒死白雪公主。
「嘿！嘿！白雪公主只要吃一口這個有毒的蘋果，就一定會死去。到那個時候，我就是世界上最美麗的女人了。」 然後，王後就打扮成老太婆的模樣，提著一籃蘋果到森林裡去了。 壞王後提著一籃蘋果來到了小矮人的小木屋前。
「可愛的小姑娘，你要不要買一個又紅又香的蘋果呀！我送一個給你吃吧，相信你一定會喜歡的。」
