《奇幻森林》是《叢林之書》最為成功的改編，對原著的尊崇與CG特效的完美結合，令電影將吉卜林這位文學巨匠昔日天馬行空的筆觸在光影世界中得以真切的呈現，而那極為逼真的叢林和擬人化的動物，奉獻出了一個讓人驚嘆的動物世界。

原著《叢林之書》的劇情設定成為了電影的脈絡，其故事講述了被狼群養大的男孩毛克利，卻被受過人類傷害的老虎所憎恨並要殺掉他，為了逃脫，毛克利與曾救了自已的導師黑豹巴希拉和偶遇相識的棕熊巴魯在叢林中踏上了冒險旅程，而最終毛克利勇敢面對自我並完成了復仇的回歸，融入到森林家園，勇敢面對困境認清自我的激勵和人與自然和諧共生的夙願成為了電影寄予的內在縱深，而在改編上電影整體風格摒棄了原著中的暗黑化，迪士尼慣以明快的基色貫穿始終。

《奇幻森林》最為側目的並不是飾演男孩毛克利，初出茅廬的小男星尼爾·塞西，而是那群用CG特效製作出的動物們，毫不誇張的說《奇幻森林》是電影工業發展的又一里程牌之作，電影中的動物不僅在毛發細節上已經做到了以假亂真，毫無差別，動物們的面部表情精準反映出不同的情緒，更是極具真實，以此我們看到了險惡兇狠的老虎反派，也見證了帥氣勇敢的黑豹，還有那樂天派棕熊的憨直呆萌等等，動物們行色各異讓人忍俊不禁且給人思考的「演技」，已然喧賓奪主的占據了本自男主毛克利的主角光環。

假若用《瘋狂動物城》來對比《奇幻森林》，那麼顯然後者會是一部稍遜風騷的作品，對於原著的尊崇，根據76版的翻拍，電影雖然呈現出了一個帶有奇幻色彩的森林世界，卻也有著一定的桎梏，畢竟《叢林之書》的故事距今以有百年之久，電影近乎不可能在一個原始森林中玩出似如《瘋狂動物城》里那步步為營，處處是梗的高能寓意，所以對《奇幻森林》來說它是一部帶有傳統迪士尼韻味的作品，其所呈現的更是一顆純粹的童心，令觀眾跟隨男孩毛克利一同走進那奇妙夢幻的動物世界。

如你曾偶有讀過《叢林之書》，你定然會發現這就是那個書中的世界，《奇幻森林》就是這樣一個令人走進自然，純粹而溫馨的童話，
