——
為了讓人們在銀幕上看到想要看的表現對象不同的距離、不同角度的形態，就產生了鏡頭的不同景別。景別主要是指攝影機同被攝對象間的距離的遠近，而造成畫面上形象的大小。景別的大小也同攝影鏡頭的焦距有關。焦距變動，視距相應發生遠近的變化，取景范圍也就發生大小的變化。景別的運用是影視藝術創作中的重要手段。為了塑好鮮明的影視形象，要求創作者根據人物的主次、劇情的需要、觀眾的心理，處理好景別的大小、遠近。景別的劃分沒有嚴格的界限，一般分為遠景、全景、中景、近景、和特寫。為了使景別的劃分有個較統一的尺度，通常以畫面中人物的大小作為劃分景別的參照物。如畫面中無人物，就按景物與人的比例來參照劃分。

遠景
——攝影機遠距離拍攝事物的鏡頭。鏡頭離拍攝對象比較遠，畫面就開闊，景深悠遠。此種景別，能充分展示人物活動的環境空間，可以用來抒發感情，渲染氣氛，創造某種意境。遠景中視距最遠的景別，稱為大遠景。它的取景范圍最大，適宜表現遼闊廣袤的自然景色，能創造深邃的意境。
2.
全景
——出現人物全身形象或場景全貌的鏡頭。此種景別的視野相對小些，既能看清人物又可看清環境，故可以表現人物的整體動作以及人物和周圍環境的關系，展示一定空間中人物的活動過程。它常常用來拍攝人物在會場。課堂、集市、商場等一定區域范圍中的動作，是塑環境中的人或物的主要手段。
3.
中景
——顯示人物膝蓋以上部分形象的鏡頭。此種景別的人物佔有空間的比例增大，觀眾能看清人物的形體動作，並比較清楚地觀察到人物的神態表情，從而反映出人物的內心情緒。在影視作品中是使用較多的基本景別。中景在主要表現人物的同時，也提供人一定的活動范圍，如房間的一隅，院落的一角等。一部影視鏡頭的成功一與否，主要看中景的運用處理。
4.
近景
——表現人物的腰部或胸部以上形象的鏡頭。此種景別人像占據大部畫面，環境變得零碎而模糊。觀眾已難於看全人物的動作，注意中心往往在人物的肖像和面部表情上。所以常用來表現人物的感情、心理活動，它的作用相當於文學作品呂的肖像描寫，適宜於對人物音容笑貌、儀表神態、衣著服飾的刻畫，突出人物的神情和重要的動作，也可用來突出相當的景物，是影視作品中大量運用的景別。
5.
特寫
——表現人物肩部以上部位或有關物體、景緻的細微特徵的鏡頭。它是視距最近的一種景別，能把表現的對象從周圍環境中強調、突出出來，近使觀眾去注意某某關鍵性細節，諸如驚愕的眼睛、欲滴的淚水、顫抖的睫毛、抽搐的肌肉等等,造成強烈而清晰的視覺形象。當視距特近時，就稱為大特寫。特寫鏡頭的作用是多方面的。可以介紹人物，突出影片的主體形象；可以突出貫穿的物體，可作轉換時空的手段；還可與其它景別鏡頭反復，使速度節奏加快，造成緊張激烈的氣氛。特寫鏡頭不宜毫不無節制的濫用，一般應和全景結合起來使用。
