Cinderella was originally released in 1950 by Disney. There have been at least 40 alternative versions of Cinderella released both before and since then, both animated and with live actors.
What sets Disney's version of 1950 apart? It is the central role of the animated mice and birds, Lucifer the ever-scheming troublemaker of a cat, and Bruno, the loveable old hound who dreams of catching Lucifer. The mice and birds are constantly helping Cinderella compensate for the oppressive work overload assigned by her stepmother and two stepsisters. The mice have to overcome Lucifer's constant efforts to catch and eat them and to get Cinderella into horrendous trouble with her stepmother.
The basic Cinderella plot line serves merely as a frame holding a canvas on which these animal characters play out the main parts of the story line through their cat and mouse games. It is these antics, communicated through short pidgin English phrases from the mice and deliciously evil facial expressions and body language of the cat, that endear the film so much to children and to the child in us all.
Cinderella is a kids movie, yeah I know. The Anime fans I know believe anything Disney is the Devil, that's to be expected. (Miyazaki's titles are being released through Disney, think about it.) But there are some great lessons to be learned by all of us, kid or alt alike: Friendship, dreams, hope, never giving up (in Cinderlla's case until the Godmother gives her a pep talk, a pep song, and performs a few magic tricks) also the realities of goodness and plain ol' raunchy badness.

Belle is bored with life in her village. Her only escape is her books, and she longs to have an adventure of her own. When her father heads out to a fair, he gets lots, and Belle finds him in an enchanted castle. The objects are thrilled, because if she and their master, the Beast, fall in love, they will all be freed from the enchantment. But will Belle be able to see past the outward appearance? And what about the handsome bore back home who wants to marry Belle?
Through brilliant animation and song, as well as some terrific voice talents, the story of unexpected love comes to new and exciting life. Small-town girl Belle is forced to head into the woods once her father turns up missing, bringing her to a gloomy, secluded castle where she finds him and his captor, a vicious-looking beast. Of course, the beginning of the movie explains the beast's origins: he was once a selfish prince who, after turning out an old beggar woman, was transformed, given an enchanted rose, and told "if he could learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time."
I feel in love with this movie the first time I saw it, and that love has only grown over the years. The story is the right mix of fun and uncertainty. Gaston was a wonderful addition to the mix because his story was the part I was most uncertain about the first time around. The artwork on the film catches your eye from the first shot of the castle, and doesn't let go. Beside the incredible background shots are wonderful drawings of the characters. I especially love the boyish excitement they manage to give the Beast in several scenes. Finally, there's the music. Every song adds to the story and is memorable in its own right.

After I read these two different versions of Cinderella, I found there are many similarities and differences between them. First, I will go over the common things that these two books have. They both have very similar characteristics. For example, Cinderella is always a very beautiful and nice girl. She has to do all the hard and dirty work under the discipline of bad characters. Bad characters are commonly involved in these stories. For example, Yeh-Shen had a wicked stepmother, who promoted her own child, but was very mean to her.
Rhodopis, a Greek slave girl living in Egypt, had her companion servants who made fun of her appearance and kept distance from her. Second, they have both have a similar plot and theme. Both stories have a good ending toward their destiny. In both versions of Cinderella, they finally get great rewards and marry to the royalties. Third, there are always some belongings being taken away from Cinderella. Elegant dresses, shoes, and rose-red slippers often play important roles in these stories. For example, in the Chinese version of Cinderella, Yeh-shen lost the gold shoes in a huge parade. The king got the shoes and found a long way to find the right person who could fit in it.
Fourth, they are all attributed to the supernatural or animals. In the Chinese version of Cinderella, Yeh-Shen was helped by the Fish spirit, and Rhodopis was helped by the falcon. Fifth, the most but not the least, they are both illustrated by beautiful colors and textures to describe the story of Cinderella. This is especially true in the story of the Egyptian Cinderella, which presents great details of life in ancient Egypt. Certainly, there are also some differences between these two books. The Egyptian Cinderella was based on a true story of ancient Egypt to some extent .This is unlike other fairy tales, which use a lot of imagination. In the history of ancient Egypt, Rhodopis did marry to the King Pharaoh Amasis. Furthermore, there is no punishment to bad characters in the Egyptian version of Cinderella.
I like the Chinese version of Cinderella better because it originated from China. I have heard this type of story a long time ago. It is a tough bet to retell a story which has already been told not once but many number of times. We all know what happens in Cinderella, but it would take Disney to make an already known story to be interesting. The way this version of Cinderella has been told makes all the difference. Disney and Fairy tales are made for each other so much, that no matter how many times they tell the same story, it is still as interesting as watching it for the first time. Throw in some top class CGI to the fairy tale, and voila you have a stunning movie, and yes the movie was stunning, be it the palace, which i believe was CGI, the performances by the artists and above all the screenplay had been extremely well written all over the movie. Thankfully this one is not a musical like its predecessor, from Disney.So full marks to the director Kenneth Branagh, and full scores to Lily James for portraying the most loved character of all times. Also a special mention to the characterization of the prince,played by Madden, that rather than being portrayed as the lover boy Prince Charming, who just falls in love over Cinderella, in this version he shows his character by standing up for his love.

Ah, the classic Cinderella story never gets old. Yet another remake of the old fairytale has been made,
this time starring Wizards of Waverly Place』s Selena Gomez and High School Musical』s Drew Seeley.
Although the plot has been done thousands of times, this movie is still extremely entertaining. It may
be a bit cheesy, but honestly, it』s a remake of Cinderella. I mean, come on, of course it』s cheesy.
Everyone knows the classic fairytale. Selena』s character, Mary, is the Cinderella. She』s shy, not
popular, and loves to dance. Her world turns upside down when teen heartthrob sensation singer, Joey
Parker (Seeley), transfers to the school and dances with Mary at a masquerade ball. He can』t stop
thinking about her. Of course, there』s the wicked stepmother (Jane Lynch) who will do everything to
make sure that Mary does not get into the top dance school. Her two wicked daughters (Emily Perkins,
Katharine Isabelle) are destined to stop Mary from falling for Joey, even if that means embarrassing
her. Mary』s friend, Tami (Jessica Parker Kennedy), takes the role of fairy godmother and is always
sticking up for Mary.
The story mostly followed the Cinderella format, but had its own differences. For example, the glass
slipper has turned into an iPod-like device and instead of having the slipper fit, girls would guess
the top four most played songs. Very clever. Due to these minor tweaks, the plot was not boring at all.
The acting choices were vital to this performance and the decisions paid off, especially casting Selena
and Drew. The o's chemistry was there but sometimes became a bit awkward, like when Selena』s chest
was pushed up against Drew』s chest. It was very obvious that Selena was uncomfortable. But who can
blame her? He』s almost ten years older than her! There were complaints about the age difference, but
both actors are extremely talented. Both are triple threats — singing, dancing, and acting. The rest
of the cast acted very well, especially Jane Lynch, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Marcus Paulk, who plays
Dustin, Joey』s friend.
Dancing and singing was good as well. Selena』s dancing was amazing, even though she claims she was
just learning and everyone else was a professional. Drew — who voiced Troy in the first High School
Musical — was good as well. I』m usually not a person who likes to watch people dance, but Selena and
Drew had scenes where their dancing was so unbelievable that I had to watch it. I bought both of Selena
』s songs, 「Bang This Drum」 and 「Tell Me Something I Don』t Know.」 I plan to buy more.
Overall, a very satisfying performance of Cinderella. Selena and Drew really shine through in this
movie and take the stage. The movie is currently available on Amazon; it never went to theaters. And
they all lived dancing ever after.
